$1.5m scholarship program announced
A joint $1.5 million scholarship program has been announced by the SAE (School of Audio Engineering) Institute and Qantm College, to be divided into 189 scholarships over the next 12 months.
The SAE/Qantm Scholarship Program will administer 180 part scholarships, each covering 50 per cent of tuition fees, and nine full scholarships, encompassing 100 per cent of fees.
SAE Institute is an audio engineering, animation and film institute with six campuses across Australia, offering courses in sound engineering, film making, electronic music production and creative media.
Tom Misner, SAE Institute Chairman and Founder said: “The launch of this scholarship program, and having the opportunity to reach out and make a meaningful contribution to the community, is one of my proudest moments since founding the college over 30 years ago. We are very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to students that may otherwise have difficulty accessing such higher education, and to encourage Australias talented young people to pursue their ambitions in the expanding creative media industry.”
Qantm College, an affiliate of SAE Institute, provides courses, diplomas and degrees in new and emerging industries, including games development, animation, new media development, graphic design and digital video production.
Marco Bettelli, managing director, SAE Institute Australia, Asia and Middle East, said: “SAE Institute and Qantm College have worked hard to continue to set the benchmark for practical education in developing areas of creative media, and design varied educational options to accommodate our students diverse needs. Our students are already supported financially through programs such as the governments FEE-HELP, and this scholarship program creates even more opportunities for students to access the best education to assist them in pursuing careers in creative media industries such as sound, film and digital media.”
Scholarships for SAE 2008 Diploma courses will be offered across all campuses, including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Byron Bay.
Scholarships for Qantm Diplomas or 1st year degree courses will be available at Qantm campuses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with some variation in program availability across campuses. Further scholarships will also be available in 2009.
SAE Institute and Qantm Colleges Melbourne campuses are currently calling for applicants to the Diploma of Film Production and Diploma of Audio Production; and animation and gaming courses respectively.
