As of 1st July 2008, Austrade’s EMDG grants for the 2007 – 2008
period have opened and are now available for download.
The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is a key Australian
Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current
exporters. Administered by Austrade, the scheme supports a wide range of
industry sectors and products, including inbound tourism and the export
of intellectual property and know-how outside Australia.
The EMDG scheme:
* encourages small and medium sized Australian businesses to develop
export markets
* reimburses up to 50 per cent of expenses incurred on eligible
export promotion activities, above a $15,000 threshold
* provides up to seven grants to each eligible applicant.
To access the scheme for the first time, businesses need to have spent
$15,000 over two years on eligible export marketing expenses.
The EMDG application form and schedules are available for download in
both word and excel formats.

Before you download the application forms, AUSTRADE encourage you to
also download ‘A Guide to Applying for EMDG’ (PDF, 1.09MB). This Guide
provides instructions on how to complete the application form and
schedules and sets out other required documents that must be submitted
with your application form.
Austrade also hold coaching sessions that might be worth looking at,
especially for managers applying for the first time. These small-group
offer personalised sessions that will help you get EMDG-ready and
maximise your grant entitlement.
The sessions are run by senior grants staff and cover a range of topics
including introduction to EMDG, how to plan for EMDG, how to apply for
EMDG and how to get the best out of the EMDG scheme.

with relevant schedules and supporting documentation is received by
