Q Music is happy to announce that BIG SOUND 2008 Artist Showcase
applications are now open until 16th July 2008.
The music industry from Queensland, Australia and overseas converge in
Australias only live music precinct Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, for Q
Musics BIG SOUND music industry summit and artist showcase 10 -12
September 2008. NOTE THE DATE CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.
The artist showcase program is a diverse and vital part of BIG SOUND
that presents an exciting opportunity for you to be seen & heard by the
decision makers in the music industry.
Showcases will be held on Wed 10th and Thurs 11th September. Artists are
encouraged to apply in all genres of music.
Selection Criteria
To apply for BIG SOUND 2008 Showcase, you will be judged on the
following criteria:
• Promotional package (your bio, MP3, photo, website, myspace, youtube
etc.)
• Sales history
• Timing of recent release
• Radio airplay
• External recognition
• Existing deals
• Recent touring history
• Audience measures

PLEASE NOTE:
• Queensland based artists are encouraged to apply.
• A limited number of showcase spots will be available for National and
invited International acts.
• There is no travel assistance $$ available
• Regional Qld artists are encouraged to apply and seek travel funding
support for conference attendance
• Selected artists will be notified late July 2008
• Acts to be available to be in Brisbane 10 -12 September 2008
• One conference pass will be made available to each successful showcase
applicant (band or individual)
