Michael’s Whichway Update - MusicNSW

Unfortunately the Peats Ridge Festival did not go ahead due to flooding. The festival organizers are looking forward to putting on another Festival for next New Years Eve.

Sydney Festival has been a big success especially the Indigenous program. Whichway in conjunction with the Sydney Festival, ArtsNSW and the Redfern Community Centre has run a series of very successful workshops. A Hip Hop Master class was held with LA artist Busdriver and The Last Kinection, Wire MC and Radical Son. Murundak Black Arm Band participants also held a performance and gave songwriting sessions at the community centre on 24th – 25th; over 30 artists attended these sessions.

All up the sessions were a great success. Whichway in conjunction with the Sydney Festival, ArtsNSW and Koori Radio also held a Klub Koori Hip Hop night at the Sydney Festival Becks Bar.
Despite the rain over 700 attended what was a huge night. All the artists (McS, Wire MC, Radical Son, St Warriors, Last Kinection, Brotha Black and Busdriver) really stepped up and put on incredible performances on the night.

We hope that this is the start of a strong ongoing relationship with the Sydney Festival for future years.

Yabun Invasion Day concert (26 Jan ) was also a big success with thousands of people attending this years event.

The next Whichway showcase will be held at The Sydney Opera House Studio on Wednesday March 12. Artists performing on the night will be Sharnee Fenwick, Marlene Cummins and The Last Kinection.
