The North Coast Entertainment Industry Association (NCEIA) is pleased to announce that the 16th annual Dolphin Awards will be held on Wednesday 14 November at the newly refurbished Ballina RSL club.
With performances by Invisible Friend, Andy Holm and the best of the North Coasts orginal musicians its all set to be a very special night.
Entries have been extended until 1 October, meaning that local musicians still have the chance to be a part of this high profile event. The night features the best of North Coast talent, and rewards the efforts of artists and industry workers in 30 awards categories.
Media coverage, especially by the ABC, has grown each year and the awards have become a genuine opportunity for aspiring talent to develop a local and national profile. Since its inception in 1991, the Dolphin Awards have assisted hundreds of north coast singers, songwriters, composers, graphic artists, record and video producers in developing their careers. It remains the only regional music awards in NSW, and is increasingly being recognised by funding bodies and government agencies as a making a real and enduring contribution to the infrastructure and professionalism of musicians in the region.
The NCEIA Dolphin Awards are open to all original recording artists, songwriters and composers, graphic artists and video producers, both amateur and professional, living in the (02) 66 code area and entry forms are available to download at www.nceia.org.au.
This year marks an exciting new phase for the Dolphins with the inclusion of many new categories. So with categories ranging from rock and pop to childrens music and protest songs, theres sure to be a section to suit!
