ArtsNest is about discovering new and emerging artists who live and work in the North Coast.
Emerging artists who live in the North Coast (Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Tweed, Kyogle, Ballina, Byron, Lismore or Tenterfield) and are over 18 are encouraged to see if they fit within the criteria and apply. You will be required to submit an artist’s statement as well as a sample of your work. The award is about recognising achievement and nurturing potential and puts the focus on the artist, rather than one piece of work.
This award is designed to offer a fabulous opportunity for exposure on ABC north Coast to the 12 finalists. Their work will also take a 3 month tour of the three regional galleries in the Northern rivers and the overall winner will receive a professional development plan coordinated by Arts Northern Rivers.
There are three broad categories: Screen Artists, Visual Artists and Performing Artists. The three regional gallery directors, as well as representatives from Screenworks, Northern rivers Conservatorium and NORPA will all offer expertise in their specialist area to help shortlist.
