Music Development Fund
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Music Development Fund was established in 2004 to support locally based music groups to:
– bring professional development opportunities to the wealth of talent and music groups in the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
– strategically develop the Port Macquarie-Hastings music scene towards a music economy servicing music audiences and professional musicians
– increase the profile of musicians, music groups and festivals based in the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Music Development Fund has a grant allocation of $6,500. It is anticipated to be available on an annual basis.
Applications are invited from Hastings community based, not for profit music organisations for new projects that develop the music skills and talents of the local residents and community groups. Previous allocations range from $500-$1,000 small grants towards the costs of bringing visiting master musicians/composers to run workshops for young musicians and teachers. Applications close 4pm Friday 31 August 2007.
