Since the AustralAsian Music Business Conference (AMBC) has already passed 450 registrants with a limit of 700 for the three day event August 16-18 at Acer Arena, the producers came up with an initiative for the up and comers (as well as down and outers) in the music industry. They had already provided scholarships to the AMBC for one student each from 20 music business schools or conservatoriums, but decided to go one better.
IMMEDIA! is offering a special deal for only 100 tickets for students and unemployed (read, most musicians and many retrenched or redundant record company staff) to attend one day–the Saturday only–at $100 for all sessions including the showbag and networking drinks. It’s the day that kicks off with music industry analyst and acclaimed blogger Bob Lefsetz (just named one of the 25 Music Industry PowerGeeks by Blender Magazine in the US) delivering the keynote address.
For those who have lost their job in the music industry in the past
year, all they need to provide is a copy of their separation letter.
Requests giving proof of student or unemployed status need to made
through Michelle Padovan at IMMEDIA! at michelle@immedia.com.au or
phone (02) 9557 7766 but the initiative is limited to only 100
tickets for Saturday only. Full schedule, topics & speakers at
