AIR is proudly assisting with a number of Briefing Sessions for Australian record labels, artists and managers interested in being involved in Popkomm, one of the worlds largest and most important music trade events, to be held in Berlin this September (19 – 21).
Katja Bittner, Director of Popkomm, will be taking part in the Adelaide Fuse Festival, and visiting Sydney and Melbourne (as well as videoconferences with Perth and Brisbane), to talk with Australian companies about how they can tap into the lucrative European music industry.
About Popkomm
Popkomm is a leading meeting place for the music industry and associated markets – it attracts more than 800 exhibitors from all over the world every year. In 2006, 15.000 professionals from 55 nations attended the event. More than 1,200 musicians from 24 different countries performed during the 2006 Festival. As a 3 day conference, trade show and festival, Popkomm is linking Music and Live professionals to associated branches such as Advertising, Film, Fashion, Consumer Electronics, and Mobile Entertainment.
Over 60 Australians attended the trade fair and conferences in 2005 and 2006. Australian artist appearances in the last years included Ben Lee, Tecoma, and an 8 band New Found Frequency Radio Network showcase. In 2007, the Australian national stand will be organised by the Australian Trade Commission.
