For the last two years, The Cat & Fiddle Hotel Balmain, and 456 Records in their continuing support for original live independent Australian music have released the ‘all live’ compilation CD ‘Live @ The Cat.’
With the success of 2005’s Volume 2, including national distribution with MGM, a big push on promotion, street press, radio and showcase gigs, 19 bands, two CD’s, all recorded live from the Cat stage, The Cat & Fiddle Hotel, and 456 Records, are pleased to announce that ‘Live @ The Cat’ is on again, and this year’s ‘Volume 3’ promises to be bigger than ever.

Here is how it works;
First, you need to play a gig at the Cat, get all your fans along to the show and make it huge, and we multi-track record your entire set in our up stairs studio located at the venue, which is mixed and presented to you on CD.
You then pick your favourite track form your set, which is re-mixed to a very high standard at our Camperdown studios with engineer Nathan Johnson. This song is then professionally mastered with William Bowden, and manufactured into an exciting compilation CD. We at 456 Records then get to work getting your song and this professionally packaged compilation out there to the industry and
public. The CD will also be distributed nationally by MGM.
You own the finished masters of your track, which you are free to do with whatever you like – include it on an album, give it away on myspace.com etc, anything you wish.
Some of the previous bands featured on Vol 1 & 2 are National Pornographic, The Ride Ons, Duppy, Mekonics, Citizen Dog, Shiver, Denim plus many more…
Additionally, this year, one band chosen by 456 Records will also receive ‘FREE’ studio time to record and mix a track with 456 Records producer/engineer Nathan Johnson.
