MusicNSW is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018 Indent Event Development Grants!
With two levels of funding, MusicNSW’s 2018 Indent Event Development Grants Program supports teams of young people who are interested in staging their own all-ages, drug, and alcohol-free music events in 2019.
The MusicNSW Indent Event Development Grants Program is funding by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
We’re super excited to be supporting the following event teams throughout 2019:
4ESydney Crew for the 4ESydney Festival and Conference
4ESydney Crew will be expanding their annual festival with the addition of a music conference. 4ESydney Festival and Conference will be returning to Bankstown to showcase hip-hop artists and unpack issues around industry sustainability, cultural appropriation and entrepreneurship.
The Galaxy Girls for the Wellington Youth Festival
Supported by Signal Creative, The Wellington Youth Festival is a live music festival for young people in Wellington. The event will be facilitated by the Galaxy Girls and feature local and inter-state bands.
Campbelltown City Council and the Youth Entertainment Reference Group for Sunset Sounds
Campbelltown City Council, alongside their Youth Entertainment Reference Group, will be running a collection of 3 live music nights – Sunset Sounds – to increase opportunities for young Macarthur locals to perform their music live.
Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee for YouthFest
As part of Youth Week 2019, Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee will be presenting YouthFest, a celebration of young people, music and community connection. Supported by Cessnock Community and Youth Development (Kurri Kurri Community Centre), the festival will feature a diverse line up of music with opportunities for local young bands to perform alongside a headline act.
Hoon for ‘All Of Us’ Festival
With the support of The Servo Food Truck, Wollongong band Hoon will be presenting All Of Us: an all-ages multidisciplinary music event in Port Kembla, bringing together established and emerging youth acts from the Illawarra.
No-Fi Collective for No-Fi Takes Moree
No-Fi Takes Moree will use the goodwill that No-Fi Collective has accrued in Newcastle to target a youth demographic in Moree, bringing live music acts from a variety of genres to the region to perform.
The Y Project Newcastle for SETTLE PETAL
Newcastle’s The Y Project will host an all-ages party advocating for the importance of safe and respectful gig culture. Settle Petal is taking place in Newcastle thanks to the support of Softy’s Clubhouse.
Beach Sounds for Beach Sounds Festival
The Beach Sounds team will see the return of their all-ages music festival Sounds Festival in Lennox Head supported by the Ballina Shire Council.
Manning Youth Action & Interact Team (MYAIT) for Live n Loud and Summerfest
Continuing their 12-year history of delivering the Live n Loud series in the region, Manning Youth Action and Interact Team (MYAIT) will hold 3 Live n Loud gigs throughout the year before the series culminates in the outdoor music event Summerfest, in December.
Georges River Council Youth Advisory Committee for Georges River Live and Local & Unplugged
The Georges River Council Youth Advisory Committee will host 2 live music events. Supported by Georges River Council, the event team will be organising Unplugged, an acoustic, open mic night in Kogarah, as well as Live and Local, a local band night hosted at a new youth venue in Hurstville.
Street Fest Jam Committee for Street Fest Jam
Canterbury-Bankstown based youth service Humanity Matters and the Street Fest Jam Committee are coming together to bring a music competition to Bankstown. The Street Fest Jam will form part of an existing monthly event called The Street Fest, and will provide an opportunity for solo musicians, bands, singers, MCs, hip-hop acts and more to battle it out before an audience and judges.
Currents – Live Music Team for Eurostock – Let’s Rock and Rain
Held in Moruya, events team Currents will host an all-ages music event during the Winter school holidays in 2019. With the support of Eurobodalla Shire Council, the event will feature live bands and raise awareness of the drought and its effects on the local community.
The Youth Arts Warehouse (YAW) event team for The Metrodome
The Youth Arts Warehouse (YAW) event team, along with Regional Youth Support Services Inc, will bring 2 live music events (including The Metrodome) to Gosford. They’ll also be taking local bands to isolated young people on the Central Coast by bus as part of an OUTREACH event.
LiquidFest Organising Committee for LiquidFest 2019
Axis Youth Centre (Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council)’s long-running LiquidFest will return in 2019, this time as part of Youth Week. The LiquidFest Organising Committee will be running the annual youth music event in Queanbeyan, showcasing new and emerging local talent.
