Sounds Australia is currently looking for a live music enthusiast and supporter to join their team as Live Music Coordinator. The new position will focus on promoting Australian live music venue industry in a sustainable way and will be an important part of Sounds Australia’s efforts to support and grow Australian music.
As Australia’s national export initiative, Sounds Australia strives to assist Australian artists in accessing international music markets. Local Australian venues help Australian music industry professionals and artists hone their skills prior to working internationally.
Position description: The Live Music Coordinator will work with government, the music industry and the hospitality industry to nurture the venue-based live music industry. Key focuses for the role will be advocacy, strategy and resource development, education, and relationship development. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the domestic music market and experienced in music industry roles. An established network of music industry contacts is important, as is experience in the creation of live music programs and advocacy development. This role is offered on the basis of a three-day working week.
