Indent is partnering with Sutherland Shire Youth Services to hold a series of youth music workshops at Engadine District Youth Services. The workshops across two weeks focus on band basics and top tricks that you need to know to set you and your band up!
The first week, Tuesday March 27, will cover band craft, business essentials and mapping out who’s who in the contemporary music industry. This week will also look at song writing with guest speakers Andy Bull and MC Solo from Horrorshow.
Andy Bull is Australian alt-pop/piano rock singer-songwriter, and since 2000 has collaborated with Lisa Mitchell, Hungry Kids of Hungary and toured with Neil Finn, Little Red and Clare Bowditch.
Nick Bryant-Smith aka Solo is a hip-hop MC from Sydney’s Inner West. Since 2008 he has released two albums with his group Horrorshow, toured Australia and overseas and collaborated with the likes of Urthboy, Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso, The Herd, Hermitude and many more.
The following week we will look at how to get gigs, how to set up your own gigs up, everything you need to know about a live show and participants will be taught through how to set up a PA and what is involved in a sound check.
Each workshop is free to attend but numbers are limited so RSVP is essential. Please email MEG@MUSICNSW.COM to reserve your spot.
